Save Me Too Ep 1 Opening
A Series 1 recap was required to open Save Me Too, but a recap just felt too generic and mundane. In the script we first find Nelly sat in a car with bloodied hands - a brilliant and striking visual. But where had he been and why?
I felt that we needed to place the audience inside Nelly's head, and that the recap beats would serve better as his memory, firing him further in to his mission. So director Jim Loach and I scheduled a pick up of Nelly driving through the streets to intercut with the Series 1 material, transforming a standard recap into a programme opening with a strong narrative.
